Every hunter enjoys a little quiet time when the mind is allowed to wander back to the smells and sounds of previous hunts. Some hunts turn out better than others. Sometimes we think more about the bad hunts and why they went bad. It’s the “What if . . .” and “If only I . . .” kinds of thoughts that often lead to new hunts and new experiences.
Many of the stories collected here began as reflections of previous hunts and entered into the Notes section of the Hunting Log in our Outdoor Journals. Some of the stories are pure fiction, some are mostly true. Two of them have been published in magazines as articles. We offer them here for your enjoyment.
