The Photo Gallery allows you to create links to photos taken during your outings afield and stored elsewhere on your computer. You can download the photos from your camera or scanner and story them anywhere on your computer's hard drive. Then, using the Photo Gallery, you create links to the photos, categorize them for easy sorting/filtering, and add captions to the photos.
The Category is an excellent way to organize your pictures. Several Categories have been added for you, but you can add more Categories just by double-clicking in the Category drop-down list. For example, suppose you have over 100 photos referenced in the Photo Gallery. Using the Category button, you can easily filter those 100 photos to just the 25 you took of tarpon during a trip to the Florida Keys.
Note: The Outdoor Journal does not actually store photos. That would result in a duplication of files and wasted file space on your computer. The photos are linked to the Photo Gallery using the Browse button and the Photo Location field.
