The Reference Library is the most flexible part of the Outdoor Journal. The key to its flexibility is that fact you can label the “types” of information that you put into it. Use the Media Type and Topic drop-down lists to identify unique types of information to suit your needs.

Once stored in the Reference Library, the information can be easily retrieved whenever you need it.
Each item in the library can be printed as a report by displaying the item in the library window and clicking the Print button. The following reports are also available.
Entries by Author
The Entries by Author report lists all library entries containing a value in the Author field. The report is sorted by Author name and includes the content from the Notes and Title fields.
Entries by Topic
The Entries by Topic report lists all library entries containing a value in the Topic field. The report is sorted by Topic and includes the content from the Notes and Title fields.
Entries by Title
The Entries by Title report lists all library entries containing a value in the Title field. The report is sorted by Title and includes content from the Topic, Notes, and Shelf Number fields.
Personal Notes
The Personal Notes report lists all library entries containing the word "Personal" in the Topic field of the entry. To mark a library entry as personal, select Personal from the Topic list. Then, when you want to print a list of personal items, select Report Personal Notes from the Reference Library menu. In addition to the Content field, data entered into the Title, Date, and Notes fields are also included.
Guide Information
The Guide Information lists all library entries containing the word "Guide" in the Topic field of the entry. To mark a library entry as pertaining to a guide, select Guide from the Topic list. Then, when you want to print a list of personal items, select Report Guide Information from the Reference Library menu. The word “Guide” in this instance could serve multiple purposes, depending on your needs. It could represent guiding services/outfitters, or it could be used to identify shooting preserves, hunting/fishing camps, family campgrounds, marinas, or even motels. Exactly how you use the “Guide” Topic is up to you. In addition to the Content field, data entered into the Title, Date, and Notes fields are also included.
